Elbit Systems of America has won an order worth around $212m to supply the US Army with Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B) systems.
Under the contract, which runs through 2028, the Elbit Systems’ subsidiary will be solely responsible for producing and delivering these advanced night vision systems to the US Army.

Previously, the ENVG-B programme was managed by awarding contracts to multiple suppliers.
The ENVG-B system is developed to provide US Army personnel with improved visual awareness and targeting capability in various operational settings.
Elbit Systems of America states that the platform is designed to give soldiers an operational advantage by combining head-up situational awareness with integrated features intended to manage information and support battlefield decisions.
It includes both third generation white phosphor image intensifier tubes and thermal imaging technology, enabling soldiers to operate in low-light or no-light conditions.
The goggle allows users to connect wirelessly to a rifle-mounted thermal weapon sight, supporting rapid target acquisition. The system also brings in augmented reality overlays and is compatible with the Nett Warrior interface, enhancing the user’s ability to process and act on battlefield information.
A smart battery pack powers the unit, designed to enable extended operation in the field.
Technical specifications for the ENVG-B include a display resolution of 1,280 by 1,024 pixels and a thermal camera with a 640 by 480 resolution. The detection range goes beyond 500 metres.
Since 2020, Elbit Systems of America claims to have delivered over 30,000 night vision binocular systems to both the US Army as part of the ENVG-B programme and to the US Marine Corps for its Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle project.
Elbit Systems president and CEO Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis said: “We are proud of Elbit America’s role as a trusted partner to the US Armed Forces, delivering cutting-edge night vision systems.”
According to Elbit Systems, the ENVG-B enables soldiers to detect, identify, and engage threats in environments with little or no visible light.
Augmented reality and passive targeting features are included to further support the operational requirements of modern battlefield deployments, enabling soldiers to process information and respond to threats in real time.
In addition to the ENVG-B contract, Elbit Systems recently announced that its FUSE division will provide the THOR Group 2 Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) to the US Army. This is being done through a partnership with French AI firm Mistral under an established U.S. cooperation framework to support company-level small UAS needs.
Earlier this month, the US Army awarded a contract to Mistral through the Army Contracting Command for the procurement of the THOR UAS and related mission payloads.
The THOR Group 2 is designed to be portable, rapidly deployable and capable of fully autonomous vertical take-off and landing for tactical missions. Avandra, a US-based Elbit Systems subsidiary, will work with FUSE to deliver training, field and technical support as part of this initiative.
