India’s defence sector is experiencing a historic upswing, with exports surpassing 38,000 crore rupees. This surge is directly linked to the triumph of Operation Sindoor, a 96-hour engagement that highlighted the capabilities of India’s domestic defence systems. ASELSAN’s latest launch portfolio, introduced at SAHA 2026, reflects a broader shift in defense thinking. Abu Dhabi’s exit from OPEC and OPEC+ on May 1 was framed in restrained language: a review of production policy, current and future capacity, and national interest. The reasoning Vienna received was procedural, but the vision behind the move is monumental – and so are the ramifications for Asia. Three variables had been compounding for years. The fourth, the Iran war, was by no means a trigger as this move was likely inevitable. The first variable is capacity. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has spent a decade building toward 5 million barrels per day, a target now pulled…

After almost two years of speculation, changes to North Korea’s constitution have been made public. Of great interest was the country’s definition of its territory, which is a key indicator of its policy toward South Korea.  The amendment reads that North Korea’s territory borders “China and Russia to the north and the Republic of Korea to the south, as well as territorial waters and airspace established on that basis.” This is the first time North Korea dropped its territorial claims against the South.  Pyongyang also scrapped references to “peaceful unification” and “imperialist aggressors” in the document. Neither does it identify…
