Axon Vision has successfully completed operational demonstrations for its EDGE ClearSky drone detection system.

The Israeli defence technology firm confirmed on 30 April 2026 that a defence force conducted detailed testing of the system, focusing on its ability to counter first-person view (FPV) drone threats, which pose considerable risks to mobile military units.

EDGE ClearSky, part of Axon Vision’s range of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered computer vision tools, has been designed for integration with armoured platforms.

The system uses thermal sensors and AI-driven, real-time data processing to automatically detect, identify and support interception of aerial threats by connecting directly with onboard weapon systems.

Following these recent operational evaluations, EDGE ClearSky continues to undergo further testing with military customers in key strategic regions across the globe.

As part of its efforts to expand into new markets, Axon Vision maintains a partnership with Leonardo DRS, supplying technologies for counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) operations in the US.

This collaboration has already resulted in an initial order for demonstrator systems that offer end-to-end capabilities for rapid airborne threat detection and interception.

Axon Vision intends to continue operational maturation activities for EDGE ClearSky and plans further demonstrations with international defence organisations in the near future.

Axon Vision CEO Neri Zin said: “We are very pleased with the results of this operational evaluation and view this as an important milestone in the operational maturation of EDGE ClearSky.

“As FPV drone threats increasingly become a defining feature of modern warfare, strong, rapid, and reliable detection capabilities are no longer optional — they are an operational necessity.”
