The US Army has entered into an agreement with Czech manufacturer U&C UAS for the delivery of specialised drones to its units stationed in Europe.

Under this international contract, U&C UAS will provide advanced uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) intended to support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

In a LinkedIn post, U&C stated that the agreement is intended to reinforce allied defence capabilities and improve security throughout Europe, as the use of modern drone systems becomes increasingly crucial for deterrence and protection.

The company will work in collaboration with ATP Gov, a US government contractor, to fulfil this contract.

The new drones are expected to assist with ISR operations, which play a role in maintaining situational awareness and boosting allied defence readiness amid evolving security concerns in Europe.

This agreement comes after U&C’s reconnaissance UAV was evaluated in military exercises simulating high-intensity modern conflict.

During these tests, the platform was assessed for reliability, operational efficiency, and performance in realistic scenarios, according to company representatives.

Following the exercises, representatives of the US Army highlighted that the new UAVs add to current ISR resources by delivering “long-endurance surveillance” and live intelligence transmission, which are crucial for improving situational awareness and allowing for fast operational decisions within the current European security context.

U&C UAS chief commercial officer David Jirman said: “Our valued customer praised our ability to provide critical ISR capabilities, offering long-endurance surveillance and real-time data to significantly enhance situational awareness.

“Our UAV system is a versatile reconnaissance tool and a robust solution, capable of meeting the rigorous demands of modern military missions.”
